PRESS TRIPS, PRESS RELEASES, & CONTENT
FOR INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL MEDIA
Public relations is a vital part of the tourism industry, and the Maximum Exposure team takes great pleasure in identifying and pitching travel news, preparing press releases, meeting with journalists, and organising press trips. As our clients work in some of the world’s most incredible but under-appreciated destinations, we always have fresh, exciting stories to share. Many of our consultants have extensive professional experience working as travel journalist and editors, so we understand what makes a good news hook, how to shape and pitch stories, and what kind of support writers and editors really need.
Press Trips
Throughout the year, Maximum Exposure organises small group and individual press trips to showcase our clients‘ products and services and generate high quality media coverage. Many of these press trips are by invitation only; for others, we have an open call, with clearly defined target media lists and selection criteria. We list the open calls on this web page and also advertise them on our social media accounts. All journalists need to have a confirmed article commission from an approved outlet before we can request and approve press trip support, but we are happy to discuss potential story angles, news hooks, and suitable outlets with you before you pitch.
Forthcoming Press Trips:
In summer 2025, Silk Hospitality will be launching The Telegraph Hotel in Tbilisi, Georgia. The hotel — which was originally built as the city’s post and telegraph office — will be the first member of The Leading Hotels of the World group in the Caucasus. For UK-based journalists, this is a prime opportunity to try the new direct flight routes from London to Tbilisi, launched by British Airways and easyJet this spring. Read the hotel launch press release here and get a first glimpse of the photos.
In the first instance, Silk Hospitality is inviting journalists writing for target media in the UK, US, France, Germany, and GCC. The June preview has a more restricted target list than the later trips, but it may be expanded. All participating journalists will need a confirmed commission from an agreed target media outlet to be accepted on the trip, so if you are considering pitching to a non-listed outlet, please discuss it with us first. Please send all questions and expressions of interest relating to these trips to Vic ([email protected]).

Our clients in Georgia and Uzbekistan are often willing to provide flight support, accommodation, and ground tours for individual press trips. Requests from top tier publications are given priority, and low-season travel with plenty of lead-in time is easiest to arrange. Trips have recently been approved for Forbes, Metro, National Geographic Traveller, The Independent, The Telegraph, and Travel Weekly, so these are the kind of outlets you’ll need to arrange commissions from. We do not usually arrange influencer trips.
